In case you don’t know by now, Lisa and I will be moving to Mazatlan, Mexico in March!  For those of you that don’t know yet we want to fill you in all of the the details.  We’ll be keeping this blog updated while we are gone so that you can know what is going on in our lives as well as what God is doing in Mexico.
The first question that most people ask us about our trip is how we can be going so quickly.  A lot has had to happen for everything to work out so perfectly and it starts back before Lisa and I ever met each other.  Both Lisa and I took our first missions trip while in high school, and while we didn’t fully know what God was doing in our hearts, we began to develop a passion for reaching the world.  Throughout college Lisa and I continued to be involved in missions work and felt like we were being pointed to living abroad. Lisa and I started dating as we were finishing college and took our first mission trip together with Riverview church to Monterrey, Mexico in 2009. After that trip we decided that we would start planning our lives so that after we got married we could move to Mexico to do ministry.
Because we started planning our commitments and priorities years ago, when we were presented an awesome opportunity a few weeks ago, we were able to say yes!  We have accepted a one-year internship with a children’s home called Rancho de los Niños.
You can get more information on the ranch at www.ranchodelosninos.com
While helping at the children’ home will be one of our main priorities Lisa and I will also be working.  I am blessed to be able to keep my job at Inspired Green, as training manager, doing a lot of work over video conference.  Lisa will be home schooling a couple of kids helping them get up to grade level and to learn English.
We also have the ability to be a part of a great local church called Vida Nueva!  We only had the opportunity to attend one service while we visited, but the genuineness of the church was amazing.  While it was completely different than Riverview, many things felt the same.  We were welcomed immediately by many different people from the church and ushered right over to the coffee.
There are a lot of details that we left out to keep this brief enough to read.  If you have questions ask and we’ll be happy to answer them.  We are looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!
